I have had two phone calls in the last week - latest today, from someone claiming to be from O2 telling me my contract has expired and I will now move to a variable tariff unless i sign up to something different this person(s) was offering.  Am I correct in thinking this was a scam call and that my tariff with O2 is still in place.

It's a well known scam.
Forward the scam number to 7726 - It's free.
Other ways to report here including Action Fraud website
