Why can't I just have £10 credit on pay as you go and not have to have a plan that costs me that money each month? I use my o2 SIM in my emergency phone so I just want to phone if I have a problem so I don't need free txt and internet time.

You need to switch your tariff to "Big Talker" or "International".
Both will leave your top up as credit on your account.

To switch your tariff to International Sim, text INTSIM to 21300, free from your O2 phone.
