Why am I being charged for texts to a non uk number ? I thought roaming charges don't apply anymore within the EU?

You are still charged for international texts and calls.
They aren't free and nothing to do with the roaming changes.

They are only free if you are roaming and texting or calling another number in the eurozone. 

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Yes, a text from your phone on O2 UK to a Spanish mobile on Movistar in Spain costs 22p; a text from your phone when roaming on Movistar in Spain to the other person's Spanish mobile on Movistar is free.
