Cost of making 0845 and 0870 calls

Hi Guys, does anyone know if 0870/0845 calls are chargeable? I should know but I am a dummy

Yes they're not included in the tariffs apart from the ones here:

There's a website called 'saynoto0870'  which you can use to find regional geographic alternative numbers for companies.  These numbers  are more likely to be included in your free minutes just like home telephone numbers.

Steer clear lo-call and nongeographic numbers though.

Been trying to get it suggested to o2 that they do the same as vodafone and allow a bolt on which vodafone currently do which is 300 mins to 0800/0845/0870 for £2.50 a month I know I and a few others would snap it up

I just think the whole thing is a con anyway. Ofcom should make it illegal to charge a premium for dialling 08 numbers.  They should cost the same as the standard 01/02 numbers they are associated with. The only advantage of having an 08 number should be the fact it can be easier to remember.  There shouldn't be additional costs involved.

It's the same with everything these days though.  Consumers are led to believe they are getting a good deal, but there is no such thing as a good deal, we are constantly being ripped off.
