Why can't we get a sim only deal if we are paying separately for the phone

The airtime is separate bit must be chosen from the packages offered unless you pay off the device plan which leaves you free to choose any tariff.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

That's my point why should you have to choose what they tell you. As you said the airtime is separate so you should be able to choose sim only deal

Because thats how Refresh works and suits many...If you want a sim only contract you have to buy the phone outright. I am on Simo on my Note 4.....I realise the initial outlay is too much for some. Thing is when your refresh contract has ended...you would then be able to go for sim only...
