Does anyone know if I can terminate my contract with O2 without charge due to the nature of network not working?

I have just read though in cases where you have been without service for a long time then your entitled to terminate your contract without penalty. That's why I'm asking

Whilst 12 hours might seem a long time, I'm fairly certain that a long time refers to weeks and months without service. But you can always try!
