I am wanting to stay with o2 but with a new contract via mobiles.co.uk rather than through my existing car phone warehouse deal. The deal was a fiver cheaper a month. I was told by a guru I wouldn’t need to cancel my old contract but just to ring o2 when I had signed up to new deal and they would transfer my existing number over and then my old contract would be cancelled. Does this sound right,  I wanted to double check before going ahead?

They probably know more than those who just post anything to get a reward each month regardless of it being any help to anyone or not........
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Really?

Having done this myself, yes you can (twice now actually).

In addition, I have had better answers to problems on here than lboth live chat and calling - in fact in some occasions neither of the o2 contact centres was actually able to answer a question. Yet I got a response that was correct on here.

No wonder the community is often referred to by customer services...

Disclaimer: No doubt there are some advisors who both know their stuff and are very helpful. No doubt there are also some that are one or the other. Unfortunately there are also some that are neither...

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).
