Contract about to end - want to change to a sim deal

My phone contract is due to end in a couple of week. I'm happy with my current phone so I dont want to upgrade. Instead I want to purchase an o2 sim only deal. Do I need to speak to someone about this or doni just purchase a sim? I don't want to continue to be charged for my old contract after it ends.

You can do it yourself online via My O2. Make sure you choose UPGRADE otherwise you will end up with two contracts.

Once you have chosen to upgrade and placed the order, it will end your current contract.

The key word is UPGRADE Lol

I have tried to do this but when I select the option to upgrade it only shows me deals with new phones.
