Confused about upgrading

Anonymous

Hi, sorry this is probably a totally thick question.

I've already decided I want the Google Pixel XL, and my contract is up and my old phone is paid off so I can upgrade with O2... however O2 don't have the phone I want.

Question is this: If I buy the phone I want from Carphone Warehouse (as a Sim-Free phone, I think they call it) - then do a tariff only upgrade on O2..... will this work?

When the device shows up, can I just swap my SIM over to the new device?

I'm on the LG G3 855 or whatever it is called... and ideally moving to Google Pixel XL.

I appreciate any answers.

Hi @Anonymous

You should have no problems at all. I bought my Note 3 from CPW and now have a Note 4/ I took out a sim only contract with O2. Mine is for 12mths I pay by direct debit every month and all works perfectly

You can buy on an o2 contract from CPW if you don't want to pay fully upfront too, but you won't get refresh that way if it bothers you at all.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
