Charging for a missed called

I called a number but hung up before it answered. I have been charged for an 8 minute call even though it showed up on my daughter's phone as a missed call 9 minutes after I tried to contact her. How is that possible? I'm new to O2 and therefore not tied in to a contract with them as I bought a Pay as you Go card to try out the service. I'm not impressed so far and I can't find a way to contact customer service without paying out even more money for a direct call.

How do you know you have been charged for an 8 min call?

So if your phone said you made an 8 min call you didn't hang up when you thought you had? That's not a network fault, it's either a phone fault or user error wink

It's possible that you thought you hung up by pressing the back key but the call would still be connected. Can't advise any more without knowing the phone type.
