Charges abroad

Anonymous
Not applicable

What are all these SMS message charges I'm being billed for when backpacking around Asia? 127 of them! I've hardly used my phone. My couple of calls home come to £20, my data has been off throughout with no charge, no charges for other texts or minutes but still a bill for £112!! What is this for? How can this happen and what can I do to stop it if I'm not using my phone?

Thanks - any advice welcome.

You need to speak to CS or look in your MyO2 for a bill breakdown.
Calls are free from abroad

@AnonymousIs there any chance you left voicemail on?. You could be charged twice for that. Once to receive the call and again when/if you listened to the message. Calls from Asia (depending where) are between 80p- £1.25 to receive....

I gave the range....as no indication what countries you backpacked through

Yes I know he said sms...but we had another customer recently who had left voicemail on whilst travelling out of Europe and didn't realise the implications of doing that. I was suggesting another scenario....

Of course if his bill breakdown isn't clear and he wants to challenge it then ringing CS is the way to do it ..

I'm just struggling with the fact that sms are free to receive and rhe op said they haven't used the phone.
I can't think where any sms charges would come from?
