The other thing we see a lot is cross border roaming (accidental roaming) this happens a lot on Greek islands near to the Turkish coast. The only way to prevent it is to enable manual network selection and select a Greek network. I am not suggesting this is the cause but it may have happened.
Are the numbers international numbers or uk mobile looking numbers and what is the country code showing next to them on the bill

How much are the charges? Do they relate to o2 Travel? Were the calls definitely international?
