So I received my o2 bill today and I am being charged £60 for scam calls I did not answer whilst I was holiday. I get scam calls often so I changed my settings many months ago to send unknown number calls to voicemail and now I have been charged £60 for calls I did not answer whilst I was away

Was your voicemail active?
Most likely those calls went unanswered or were rejected. In both cases the calls would have been returned back to the UK and your voicemail service. Whether they left a message or not you would be charged as an outgoing call.
It is the same on all networks and has been since the days of 2G
Turn Voicemail off BEFORE traveling to any country where call charges apply

Voicemail is best disabled when travelling, @Re1991
Guide: All you need to know about O2 Voicemail 901
As you can see, you gave been charged for every call made to you that your phone then called back to the UK to get to your Voicemail, a cost that O2 probably will not refund - but here is the Guide: How to find help & contact O2 info if you wish to follow up with them to see if they can help, @Re1991
Good luck!
