Changing to 30 days then leaving O2

Hi I am currently in a 12 month contract on sim only. 

 

I can change to a 30 day contract within my account.

 

If I do this, then request to cancel and use the PUC code, do I still pay for the entire 30 days, or just from the time the 30 days starts to the number transfer?

You are required to pay for the full 30 days regardless of when you port your number out.

O2 say I can change to a 30 day contract, but can't cancel or use the puc code in those 30 days, as you can't give your 30 days notice in the first 30 days?!
