Solved: Changing new nano sim to old number

I have a new iphone that needs a nano sim, my previous sim doesn't fit. I have the new sim from O2 and know how to change the number online. Maybe a silly question but do I "set up" my new iphone before changing the sim to my old number, or change the number first and then "set up" my phone? Many thanks for any help you can give.

Swap my sim first then set up the new iphone from the backup either iCloud or itunes or new option (quick start) via ios 11

Personally I would set the phone up first so that you have access to all services.

If it’s an iPhone I’d do the number swap first but if android phone it doesn’t make any difference either way.
