Change Billing Address to Overseas

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

I've recently moved to the USA and was trying to change my billing address to my new address over here. My direct debit has not changed, and my bank account is still based in the UK, but the cotact address for it is now based in Boston, MA. I was hoping to change my o2 billing address to reflect this.

Any and all help very gratefully received.

Cheers,

Tim

This sounds like a tricky one, and you'll need to call customer service for clarification, but I have a feeling that you cannot have a US address as a billing address.

@Anonymous just out of curiosity, if you're now living in the US, why do you want to keep an O2 account going? You will be paying a lot of money for roaming charges and for data. You'd be much better off taking a contract with a US network provider.

You can't change your billing address in My O2 as it will only accept a UK postcode. You will have to call or write I'm afraid. I have the same problem although my bank account is linked to my son's address in the UK. No big deal for me but I understand the problem. O2's system will not accept an overseas address I'm afraid.

I have some 6 months left on my account so rather than pay it off I use TU which saves me so much money calling the idiots at Virginmedia, my bank and British Gas so it made sense for me to keep my account. Not to mention calls to family in the UK....

I had been away from my computer, and in the interim was thinking of tagging you in @jonsie, as you would be the one person here who would be in the know about this. You beat me to the punch.:smileywink:

Well the wife is entertaining family so I find myself at a loose end sitting in the bar watching the young ladies fawn over my back pocket whilst keeping myself occupied mentally so as not to be tempted.  Pretty sad I know but this is my life at the moment wink

As I thought there might be a problem earlier on... I did give the contact us link....Let's hope if the op speaks to CS they will advise further...

Edited to add, if the OP wishes to remain with O2 there may be no need to actually change address at all.Seems that would cause less hassle. We are usually contacted via email or text anyway..?.

I made a point of changing my billing address to my son's before I left the UK for good but as long as I have a DD in place there is no reason for O2 to contact me. If I need any assistance then I'll get all mail sent to you, @MI5 and myself have your address Fantastic
