I would be inclined to agree with the sim swap. All the required settings should be on sim and as jonsie said it could be the wrong type.

Thank you @viridis  Had you turned up when called I would have edited my post accordingly. LOL

However.... it shows I went and checked on the Sony forums. Happy Dance

O2 text message centre numbers as follows:
Text message settings

The message service centre settings are as follows:

+447802000332 for Pay Monthly
or
+447802092035 for Pay & Go

Taken from here http://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-and-devices/text-message-settings

Do not confuse these with apn settings which are for data only.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Changing the message centre number will work in the interim but any subsequent reboot of the phone and it will revert to the default written into the sim.

I just wish the OP would come back and confirm what (if anything) worked.....Smiley Frustrated

If it is the sim change...then the Sony forum needs to update their blumming info LOL
