Cancelling my sim on my contact but keep paying for the device plan

I want to cancel my sim but I want to keep paying for the device plan, how would I go about doing this.........please help!

You can only do it the other way around

Cancel the sim and you literally cancel the contract and need to pay off the device in order to give notice to end the airtime.
