Hi

It's best to ring them or it will drop onto a 30 day rolling contract.

Normally I would strongly recommend cancelling in writing by recorded delivery so you have proof the cancellation was received. However if you are already in Australia this would be pricier than normal as you'd be needing to use international registered post which costs about 15AUD

Calling may be an option but again as you are calling internationally it could get pricey.

Sorry I tried to link directly to the postage prices but it didn't work. You can calculate them yourself using that link though. Just select international letter under 50g and choose the UK as a destination

Calling from your O2 phone to CS is a free call, so it would be my first choice in your case, but make sure you follow it up to ensure the account gets cancelled properly.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

You just need to bear in mind the time difference which may necessitate an inconvenient time for yourself but it needs to be done as a one-off.
