Hi, wondering if anyone can help.

I would like to cancel my contract and change to a pay as you go sim with another provider, which I already have. I have a few months left on my contract still so I’m expecting to pay that off. I spoke to 3 people through o2 today, none of which could help me. I already have a PAC code as I want to keep my number, is it as simple as putting the new sim in and using the PAC code then I receive a final bill with early termination charges? Or do I need to do it over the phone with o2? Thank you.

@Becky12

Just give your PAC to your new provider and when the number ports over, O2 will automatically generate your final bill, which will be collected by your normal direct debit or paid as you normally pay your bill.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

All you need to do is give the PAC code to the new provider and they will process the cancellation with o2, who will then issue you your final bill.

Do not request cancellation from o2, other the PAC code will become invalid, as their wont be an account to port over.
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

Thank you! I called 202 earlier and they put in a request for my contract to be cancelled even though I told them I want to keep my number now I’m panicking! They said id receive a call in 24 hours so I just tried to call them to not cancel my contract and they have ‘put me through to cancellations’ then ended the call on me after about 10 minutes of waiting twice😫 not sure what to do

It's not a problem at all.

Just give your PAC to new network and your number will change over the next day if done Mon to Thurs and before 5.00pm.
