Cancelling a contract

I'm having a nightmare trying to cancel my Dad's contract. The only way to cancel is by telephoning but he cannot do that as he has a hearing impairment and can't hear all the automated messages. I've asked 02 to telephone him but have been told that they cannot do that. They won't let me cancel it on his behalf. He's very elderly and self-isolating so I can't help him make the phone call. If anyone can suggest anyway this can be resolved I would really appreciate it as he's paying money for a contract that he no longer needs. Thank you.

Get a STAC and a free EE P&G sim

Give them the PAC or STAC and that will end the O2 contract

You don't need to use the EE sim at all and you can throw it in a draw and forget all about it.

Hi @MyDadsDaughter

It's much easier to cancel now. You can do it by text

Thank you for your replies.

ive had a look at the page suggested but unfortunately it does not help, unless I'm missing something obvious!

I don't need a PAC code or STAC code as Dad has already joined danother network. We just need some way of cancelling his O2 contract. Any other suggestions please?
BTW the O2 customer service did not suggest using a PAC code when I first contacted them about this and it would have been much easier to do it this way at the start!

@MyDadsDaughter

You can still get the PAC Guide: How to get your PAC [June 2021 Update] and give it to the new network.

It will cancel the old contract just the same.

Thank you @Cleoriff @jonsie @MI5  Your replies have been really helpful. I've requested a STAC code so hopefully this will sort it. Really appreciate your help.
