I've had a contract with o2 for the past two years in my name, but my step son has been using the phone, not me. It's due to be cancelled the 21st this month, but I'm under the impression that it carries on automatically even though I haven't agreed to it. I've been trying to ring 202 to cancel the contract but can never get through to an adviser, plus there are never in web chat advisers available either.
How can I cancel the contract, as my step son is now 18 and has his own contract with o2 (and I'm on pay as you go). If worse comes to worth, I will have to cancel the direct debit, to avoid being charged for a longer period than I agreed too.
Thanks

You need to cancel now with 30 days notice, try early in the morning or late at night for a better chance of getting through.
It will become a 30 day contract if you don't.

You will need to get in touch with O2. Once the contract has ended it automatically turns to a 30 day rolling contract. The sooner you contact them the less you will have to pay.
Cancelling your direct debit is never a good thing as it will result in a black mark against your credit rating if the payment is late.

I can never get through to o2, there is always a 5 minute plus wait on the 202 line, and web chat advisers are never available. I can't spend all day sitting round on the phone or the laptop. Thanks anyway!

The way you put it you was on hold for hours. 5 minutes wait to save yourself ££££s.
I give up.

I'm afraid you did agree to this, you will be marked as owing a debt which will be hard to remove later.

blimey 5 minutes is nothing, you need to be patient, some people wait over 45 minutes & you moan about 5?
