I spoke with an 02 sales rep and was told it was possible to get a iPhone 13 Pro max on a contract (24 or 36) and if I were to move abroad for work which I may need to after 12 months unfortunately, I would be able to continue paying for my phone and not the sim. Sounded too good to be true and I feel maybe they didn't understand what I was asking. Can anybody confirm?

It's nonsense @ArunD

When you travel abroad with O2, it's for holiday roaming only. You are allowed 63 days in a 4 month period. So if you are constantly abroad, you would get a warning text and then they would apply massive surcharges..

Guide: Roaming MegaGuide

Also this is how refresh works Guide: How does O2 Refresh work?

Your only option is to use your allowed 63 days, then use a local sim when you are abroad. Or pay off your device and cancel the airtime. Then you can do what you like.

@ArunD

Your device and airtime are delinked after 24 months, so the answer is yes, but only after 2 years.

You can then use a local sim in your phone without issue as the phone is not locked to O2.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
