Can't send SMS messages on my new pay monthly phone.

Just got my Sony Z1 on Pay Monthly today. I can receive texts but can't send them. Everything else, such as making and receiving calls, getting on the internet and so on, is working well. The SMS number in the setting is correct. I tried factory reseting my phone and swapping the sim with another one (since my friend who had the same problem before said it was the sim card). Is anyone else having the same problem right now?

Call Customer Services on 202 to have your account checked just in case.

Occasionally it can take up to 24 hours for all your services to settle.

It's working ok for me and I think the forum would be inundated if there was a general problem. What message centre number is it showing? Have you just ported your number or changed sim?

+447802000332 on Pay Monthly. And it looks like I can't change this number on my phone anyway. Yes I just transferred my old number. So I am probably being impatient.

Possibly.

Patience certainly is a virtue.

That is the correct number

Hi I have the same problem with my brand new O2 Samsung Galaxy SIII. Can't send texts just receive them. I have spoken to an advisor and he advised me to take the phone and the sim card back to the shop; the sim card might have the fault... Just it is very disappointing...

You might have a Pay and Go sim which will install the wrong SMS Centre Number.
