Can i keep my number if still in contract but have another contract with different provider?

Hi, im still in a contract with o2 till 3rd july but have ordered a new contract with virgin, my question is can i still keep my o2 number and use my new phone on virgin? So i will be on 2 contracts at the same time with different providers,, i wont be using my o2 phone once my vigin one arrives,,

If you port your number to Virgin it will cancel your O2 account and generate the final bill, which will include early cancellation fees.
