Can anyone tell me why my first direct debit payment to O2 is 31 pounds instead of 18 pounds it is?

First bill is usually higher as it includes a pro rata charge for the time between starting and your payment date.
You should be able to check this in MyO2 but any doubts contact 202
Guide: How to find help & contact O2
This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

That's way higher than a first bill pro rata charge.
