Can I keep my o2 number if I switch to another o2 contract from a third part seller and not through

Can’t seem to find answer I’m looking for getting a better deal getting a new contract and handset from third party but wish to keep my o2 number is this easily done can’t find answers only seem to find if it’s from o2 themselves
