You will need to keep paying your bills, but yes, you can use any sim.

No as the 2 are linked if you want to cancel your airtime, you will have to pay off the device plan, before you are allowed to port out. 

You can take a new number from a new provider, and pay for both the o2 plans and the new provider... 


It is all clear in the terms and conditions.
