Calls keep going silent mid call, randomly (S9+)

Hi there,

Apologies in advance if I've got the wrong board.

For about a month now, whenever I make or receive calls, the call will go dead silent for about 10 seconds before it unmutes. During this time the call stays connected and I always have full signal.

I've checked for outages in my area and there appears to be no problems.

What do I do? Could it be my device?

Unless your phone is connected to something else via Bluetooth, I’d certainly suggest it was a network issue.
Does it happen everywhere or just in one place? Does anyone else have the same problem or can you try your sim in another phone?

Haven't got another phone to try.

Initially I thought it was because it might have been connected to other things (such as 4G, Bluetooth) etc. but I've tried making calls with everything off, to no avail.

It doesn't seem to matter where I am. I've been travelling a lot recently for work (albeit within my region) and I've noticed it's been worse in one location than others but other than that it doesn't seem to matter where I take/make the calls.

Sounding more like phone or sim card then.
Easiest thing first is to pop into your local O2 shop and get a free sim swap.
After that, it's likely to be a phone issue.

Okay. I'll look into getting a SIM swap and go from there.

Just told a colleague about my issue. He told me he's been having the exact same issue too (although he's with GiffGaff)

Let us know how you get on with the sim swap first.

Good call @DaveA

You don't expect issues like that with brand new phones these days (if true).

Hopefully get a fix soon slight_smile
