Last night on holiday (outside EU) my wife phoned but I didn't pick up call. Neither was the call registered as an incoming call. However the call was answered by a "strange woman" (my wife's description).
My phone was in my pocket all the time and I didn't hear it. I was walking across the hotel lobby as she ended the call.
I was charged £2.87 for the phantom call.
I screenshot the call details from the O2 website and the call was 9:24pm so it was my wife's call (screenshot 9:56pm) which I didn't pick up. I also screenshot my incoming calls and the call wasn't registered as incoming.
Why was I charged for an incoming call I didn't pick up?

Voicemail will incur charges as it is classed as an international call.
The strange woman could have been the local network default call announcement, however,
this is a customer to customer community, not O2, so we cannot access your account, sorry.
You need to contact O2.
Message them on Social Media. Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (X) (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) or give them a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202
