CANCELLATION

Anonymous

I just spent an hour on live chat to cancel my contract. It is due for renewal on 29th Dec. The agent ended the session and didn't confirm the contract would not be automatically renewed. Live chat is now unavailable. This is my confirmation to O2 that I DO NOT WANT THE CONTRACT RENEWED. This is just another time that O2 have made things convoluted and drawn out. Please contact me by email only with confirmation.

Hi pg

To answer the tax question I presume you mean VAT in which case if you are billed termination fees then yes vat is payable.

I am not too sure about termination fees so one of the others will answer that hopefully in due course as I don't want to give you incorrect information.

There are no termination fees, you only pay for the time left on the contract.

Vat will be included as normal.

Can anyone tell me how they work out your termination fee. Just spent 40 mins on to a chat advisor and she had no clue. gave me 2 different figures, asked the manager and i still feel this price is not correct. I have 2 months left to go at 15.99 per month.

Do you pay tax on a service you will not receive.??

Please help, sooo frustrated trying to explain to someone how to do their job!!

In simple terms you pay 2 x your monthly tariff.

However, bolt ons are not included but VAT is still payed (it's wrong, but there you go)!!

So, if your Tariff is £12.99 with a £3.00 bolt on you would pay £25.98 to cancel it now, but if it's just a base tariff of £15.99 you will pay £31.98

Thanks for the replies. Still confused though. My online bill says i pay 15.99 line rental per month. An advisor yesterday quoted approx 26 pounds term fee, today the woman began at a term fee of 42.25, before telling me my line rental was 15.50 per month (which it isnt on my o2 online bill) and then corrected herself to a term fee of 29.02.

When asked how any of these fees are worked out she could and would not tell me, although her "Manager" did confer on the first and most wildy inaccurate term fee and agreed it to be in fact correct (which it wasn't)

LOST!!!

Does your "MY O2" show that you pay for any bolt ons?

Ok, so it's £15.99 - 3 x 2 = £25.98

or if the £15.99 includes the bolt on at £6 it is

£15.99 - 6 x 2 = £19.98
