Yes.

Call o2 Customer Services Link http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus and they'll confirm the amount.

If on refresh it will be the handset plan left to pay.

If on a standard contract it'll be the remaining amount of months left minus any insurance and bolt On's.

Ask for your http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Discussions-Feedback/Obtaining-a-PAC-Code-from-the-O2-Network/m-p/54427... to take your number to another network.

Get your phone unlocked whilst you are still in contract as it is free.
You can then keep your phone to use it on another network or if you choose to sell it, it will be worth more http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Other-Products-Services/Unlocking-an-O2-phone-to-use-a-different-SIM-ca...

Just out of interest, what is the reason for wanting to end your contract?

If it is because of a degradation of service, going through the complaints process may give you the opportunity to leave for a lower amount out even free but you may, depending on how long you have left, need to return your handset.

Just a thought
