Solved: Buying a payg phone off o2 without top up

Hi just got a sim only deal from o2 and want to buy a o2 phone with o2 firmware on for wifi calling and 4g calling. Just wondering as I got a sim only deal with o2 would I have buy the initial top up with the phone?? Thanks

If you buy online, no.
If in store it is at the managers discretion, so some may enforce it.

To be honest I'm now torn between the s8 or the lg v30 so I'm just waiting till that comes out to see what it is like and if o2 will be selling it? Be nice if it comes out with wifi calling as well.
