You cancel it via your bank.
However, if you are thinking of cancelling the DD for your phone, I would strongly advise AGAINST doing this.
You will be in a great deal of trouble. Your credit rating will be poor and O2 will sent in the debt collectors.

@Coreodonnell. Please follow the advice offered by @Cleoriff. If you're on a Pay Monthly contract, the bill needs to get paid whichever way you look at it. If you cancel your Direct Debit the demand for the money stays the same, only you'll have to worry about what day you need to pay it. Not a good idea.
