As @jonsie said in the other nearly identical thread earlier today, if O2 weren't so lax in allowing customers to stop their Direct Debit to pay by another method, this would not be happening. It should be a very simple rule. If you want to take out a monthly contract with O2, you either pay by Direct Debit, and only by Direct Debit, or you can't have a monthly contract. If that's not convenient for some, then use Pay & Go. It would also stop all the bad markers being put on people's credit ratings. End of.

Charges abroad - why don't O2 make it clear that text messages abroad cost 40p per 160 characters NOT 40p per text message. There is no mention of this on the website, when we speak to CS their reply is 'it's always been like that'!!!!!!

This may cut down on calls from annoyed customers.

But thanks for the £10 'good will gesture'.............this will massively help paying my unexpected £116 bill.

Thanks O2, great customer service as always.

One text is 160 characters so I'm not sure what your concern is....?

It's always been 1 SMS message = 160 characters so if you write a message longer than that it get's broken up into 160 character chunks, or if it's long enough it gets converted to MMS.
