Best time to change tariff to avoid pro rata billing?

As per subject - from your experience, when is the best time to switch tariff and have no or as little pro rata split billing periods? I have been on simplicity for a while now and it doesn't have an inclusive data allowance other than web daily. I could add a data bolt on but not sure if I an best switching to a similar tariff with inclusive or stay as I am with bolt on.  It will be very low usage for email etc and not for any excessive browsing!

I also want to keep to the 1 month rolling contract and not have to change this.  If I want to change tariffs and go for a tariff with a little bit of data such as the 100 or 300, when is the best time to switch without much of an overlap?

Granted that a change of tariff might incur some delay or overlap, I don't mind a day or so.  I have searched the forums and there are incidents of some double billing etc so just wanted some clarification.  Is it usually a day before next billing date or some time else?

Thanks!

Ha ha, thanks. Yes I did try that button on the toolbar but the source field didn't give me a browse button.

I'm guessing once I have uploaded a pic to my album, I then paste the link into source?

I am a bit stuck then...When I upload pictures I do one of two things. I use the 'insert an image' button..then click on browse and insert from my picture gallery ...OR I just find the image.. click on copy and paste it directly on here. I am usually doing all this via my laptop...although my Note 3 gives me the same options should I want to use that.  After that I go all technophobic...and you would need a much more proficient person than me to explain other methods...:smileywink:

Thanks. It's probably the same gremlins stopping me from editing posts!

Have managed to upload a pic to my albums and pasted the image url into the source field as there was no browse button.  Seems to work that way, hopefully!

Well we got there in the end @Viewfinder.Happy Dance

I just hope @Toby will come and provide advice about the edit button. As a matter of interest (in case you haven't mentioned it) what device are you using to post here?

Hi @Viewfinder!

I am Meri, the Community Coodinator here.

I am glad you could resolve the issue for posting pictures with @Cleoriff's help!

In regards to the issue editing your posts, can you please clear your cache and cookies on the browsers you have used  and try to sign in and out of the community. Let me know if that solves the issue. If not we will investigate further.

Hello Meri, Thanks for your assistance. The browsers I have tried automatically clear cookies and cache when I exit, so each time I open my browser to access the forum it will be as new, although it doesn't seem to change the options list whichever I use. I'm wondering whether it is related to the post count a member has? I think some forums let you do more once your count reaches a certain number...

I just use a good old fashioned desktop PC for posting, much easier read, type and press than a small phone! slight_smile

Hi @Viewfinder I can assure you it has absolutely nothing to do with post count (unless things have changed without my knowledge) I have always been able to edit my posts...and 99% of the time use my laptop like yourself. Mine is running Win7 with Firefox latest version 41.0.2. My tablet and phone run Chrome and no problems with either of those devices
