I need some advice from you guys about my new tariff. It may be a little early but I have to get prepared.

Currently I am on contract which is up for renewal in December (or just before) I have a S3 at the moment

To get something that suits me, there are a few things you need to know ...

!) I will be getting a Note 3...that isn't up for debate...

2) Currently I am on Unlimited texts and minutes and 1GB of data (which I never exceed)

3) Where possible, I use my PC or tablet. (I don't work... so these two devices are my comfort zone)

4) I go to Spain frequently so this has to be considered....

5) I want to stay with O2

As the  contract I am on at present is the first one I have ever had.....what is going to happen nearer my end date? ....

Will I be bombarded with calls and texts from other partners encouraging me to go with them?...

There you go...I am sure I will have many other questions, but these will do for now wink

Upgrade for £123...so not going to do that!

That's what I figured.... So, anytime after 14th November it will be free to change......

Definitely wait until November, That £123 is a third of the price of your new sim free Note 3, which you'll have saved by going sim only when you change tariffs. Better that the money is in your pocket than O2's.

Thanks for that...and just to clarify..... If I did it when you suggest, that would still allow me to buy the Note 3 elsewhere and go for the £20 tariff with O2???

Yes, you'll just be upgrading to a simo tariff....

Yes. And just to throw a Spaniard into the works (credit to John Lennon), even though Rich won't like this, if you are in an area where you get a good signal from Three, the tariffs for sim only are even lower.

I would stay with O2 though bambino ....as most of my family are on it...

Oh and just to defend Rich (what am I doing??) he did once recommend 3 to me when my laptop went down..Smiley Surprised

Sure it is wink

@Cleoriff Why does most of your family being on O2 have anything to do with you being on it? With the traveling you do to Spain, have you seen the perks that Three offers?

  • Free 0800/0500 calls and 5p/min for 084/087 numbers.
  •
  • Use your phone abroad at no extra cost with Feel At Home.
  • Text alerts when your allowance is running low.
  •
  • 4G at no extra cost.
  • Turn your phone into a personal Wi-Fi hotspot.
  •
  • All-you-can-eat texts on every SIM plan.

To be honest, I'm using Tesco Mobile at the moment, as the tariff is peanuts compared to what I was paying O2, but I'm thinking of switching to Three myself. (Sorry Rich)

@Bambino  if I stay on O2 it allows my lads to phone me free of charge...same goes for the grandson..

A devious ploy by a mum and grandma I expect...but it gives them no excuse LOL

Also in fairness...i don't like change or being out of my comfort zone   being an 'older model' wink

It's food for thought. If you had an 'all you can eat' data and calls plan, which is still £8 less than you're paying now, when you're in Spain your relatives could send you a text, which I'm sure they all have ample quantities of, and you could call them back with no charge to you.
