Received a text message from the number 88130 and have been charged £2.50. Is there anyway I can get reimbursed for this as the text came out of the blue. Thanks.

The irritating thing is I am extremely careful with who I give my information to. I feel like a co pay has violated my rights and sold my mobile number to a 3rd party. Finding who has done that is the hardest part. I received 3 text messages within the space of 10 seconds, two from "Motormate" and another from "Shopsafe".
I was driving at the time. Thanks for your help anyway.

Best of luck.
If you follow the advice you should be refunded and ask o2 to block all premium rate services and charge to mobile too so it doesn’t happen again.

I have also had this. The shopsafe one is a pin to log into motormate.

I had quite a funny chat with o2 in response to this, let me summarise what was said (absolute joke).

They have launched an "investigation" into refunding me. They cannot block the premium rate number from contacting me. I should text "STOP" to the number (which is not possible - doesn't let me text it).

I was then given this laughable piece of advice...

Jennifer (14:33:29): To avoid a similar inconvenience in future I
request you to please don't text any shortcode numbers.

Jennifer (14:33:44): It may also happen while browsing the internet
because of the advertisements on some websites when clicked on it by
mistake.

Jennifer (14:33:57): I request you to please be more careful while using
Internet on your phone whether it is on mobile data or Wifi.
Jennifer (14:34:11): You should click on the links by zooming in the
page while using internet as sometimes on the touch phone/tablet we
click on some links and it got click on some other link (advertisement)
because of the small screen and we end up subscribing these services.
