I have an Apple Watch Ultra 3 (not purchased from O2) with an O2 data plan. The Ultra 3 supports 5G but I have never got 5G on it even in strong 5G areas. Does O2 support 5G on the Apple Watch yet?

@ACH68

It should do, but like all things with O2, it may take a while to be introduced.

Guide: How to find help & contact O2

But O2 are advertising it with 5g connectivity so there must be plans to support it, for whatever reasons.

I'm having this issue. My O2 Apple Watch Ultra 3 isn't connecting to 5G, only 4G, in areas that my phone gets 5G.

I assume it is a network thing. If something is advertised as 5G, it should pick up 5G, at least some of the time.

I have no facts to back this up, but doesn't music stream better on 5g ? but then I suppose the platform would need to be able to supply the stream in a higher format in the first place?. Maybe like buying a 4k TV but then only watching in 1080.

@Number_3 Much of 5G is None Stand Alone and relies on 4G infrastructure.

O2 round me is 700 MHz low band and is definitely not as good as my Vodafone 4G in a number of ways, not least speed.

Can't say I've noticed anything different when it comes to music

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Music uses so little data you probably wouldn't notice if you were using 2g.
