How did you travel to /from EU and were you on a cruise ship or ferry at anytime?
Some ships have their networks registered in strange places which catches some people out?

How have you communicated with O2 thus far ?

If by Live chat then ring O2 Customer Services. 202 for Contract. 4445 for PAYG.

Last resort use the complaint link at the foot of the forum page.

This might sound silly!

Could you have been near any US Military Bases?

Yes I was on an overnight north sea ferry...... on the dates I was billed.  I had no text message warning me.  Just wondering what I can do about it

Have tried twice ringing o2 but the service I received was apaling..... so reverted to live chat as I was unable to get a signal where I am working

They have offered a refund of £28 but the charges total £40...... just cannot get a satisfactory answer from them.  The last person I spoke to said it all depended where the ship was built.....

To be honest if you have been offered a refund of £28 I would take that. Not many people do get offered any sort of refund...:smileysad:

To add....I see you were on a ferry on the dates you were charged. This is where the problem happened.

Its a sad fact that so many people have this problem when travelling on ferries or ships...
