American Express Card rejected

Just wondering if any one else has had problems paying their account using an American Express card.  When trying to pay my bill this month, I keep getting an unable to process payment message and to contact my bank, which I have done only to be told there is absolutely no problem with my card.  02 are unable to shed any light on this issue.  I have always, up until now, paid using American Express with no problem.

@s_kingdom If you do a search you will see that this has been an ongoing problem for some time which has supposedly been fixed, but obviously not in your case. I know @viridis has first-hand experience with this issue, so I've mentioned him and he will hopefully respond at some point.

Have you paid with this card before?

Many people are having payment issue and the problem has been ongoing for some for months.

Unfortunately theres nothing you can do yourself to fix this, you will have to ring up and repeatedly explain the problem over the next few months until someone takes note and then does something to make it work again, but don't celebrate too early, for it will stop working the next month meaning you will have to call again send again and again, wasting literally hours of your life calling and trying to pay them.

I think @viridis's explanation probably sums it all up. I know some people have their reasons for not using direct debit as the preferred method of payment, but it certainly would avoid all these problems @s_kingdom.

Oh it's far beyond a problem now, it's my own little monthly hell.
I actually added it up this past month..
It took:
72 seconds to pay my Virgin bill.
90 secs to pay voda
2 weeks to pay o2
