All-Rounder and Text & Web

Anonymous

Hi. Been with O2 for years and years and have had it on Pay & Go paying £10 a month for Text & Web.

I have regularly exceeded the 500mb after 21 days so was interested in the All-Rounder Bolt-On. I have since added this Bolt-On but have problems 😞

Firstly I haven't had the 500mb added to my account from this. Secondly I have not managed to access any Bt openworld wifi hotspots due to the log-on page not having the mobile number option.

I now feel that this is a poor bolt-on if you already have text & web, especially if 500mb is not an add on to whatever data you have per month, and of the bt wifi's are split with fon, wifi and openzone differences.

I may use the phone for 50 messages a month, 2 mins of talk time but 700mb data in a month. I donate credit to charity when it builds up as it reached £100 at one stage.

If anyone knows why the all-rounder acts this way or if I should look at another package or network provider, please advise slight_smile

If you are on text and web, you keep the tenner. You will get allowances if you top up each month, if you don't, you just keep your credit until you use it. Just make sure you make a chargeable call every 6 months to keep the sim active.

Check to make sure you are on text and web.

Not all BT hotspots are open to non BT customers.

Have you tried registering and checking locations here:

Glad I found this post as I couldnt find out if text and web lets you keep the credit when the month runs out.

As it,s been about 6 months(maybe more) since I last topped up I,m sure I was on text and web and my tenner just lasted for ever.

So just to confirm before I go through another saga with the o2 chat adviser, does my tenner stay a tenner(until used by calls and texts)for ever until it,s used up over the months?

I,m a very low user who dosent use internet and for out going calls I use another network so I just need this phone now and again, hence the very low usage.

Thx again jonsie,I delved a bit further into what tariff they put me on and it turned out to be a simplicity no allowance tariff at 35p a call!

I think I had cheaper calls that that in 1990 lol.

P.s,might be an idea that o2 bung you a few quid to rewrite their tariffs clearly as they really are quite misleading.

To be honest the whole website wants a total revamp. It's full of mis-information and some things are impossible to find even when the correct information is there.
