I should have had about 10-20 pounds left in my account but on the anniversary of my monthly "Pay & Go" 17/2/17 my account was reduced to zero. Why? In the past, as I use this phone whenvisiting UK, a balance below 15 pounds has been allowed to sit there until i come back to top it up.

It seems probable that the sim has been deactivated due to non-usage for a 6 month period. You need to make a chargeable call every 6 months for the sim to remain active. Your best option would now be to contact customer service and they will reactivate it for you if the number hasn't been reclaimed. Your credit would be restored 24 hours later. This happens to my son all the time when he returns for a visit to the UK.

The only other possible explanation is if your tariff has been changed to one whereby credit is taken for monthly allowances. Check in My O2.

Log into your MyO2 as it will tell you what tariff you are on and if you have been allocated any allowances http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
