About a Tweet I Just Saw from @O2

O2 just tweeted the following:

High five! On O2 Refresh your bills are automatically halved once you've paid off your phone: http://o2.uk/refresh

I am on O2 refresh and it says I have about £280 left to pay on my phone but can settle early for £200. My airtime is £12.32 per month and I am on O2 600 24 month, so if I paid the £200 would my bill be £6.16 permonth (if I don't incur further charges)?

Or is it misleading people to think that and infact the halving comes from only paying the airtime and not both air timeand device?

Are you on refresh,?
O2 600 is a standard tariff
I think your settlement amount is "speed to refresh with 25% discount on remaining contract"

I seen same Tweet,
I think what it means is that once you pay off your device plan, all you have to pay is your airtime bill, which in some cases may half the total you may have set aside for O2, even though they are two separate direct debits!
Clear as mud again?

That's what I thought. Very misleading indeed.

Nice to see o2 snatching defeat from the jaws of victory yet again.

Who checks this stuff for accuracy? No wonder people come on here for the correct advice

I thought the same when I saw it - It's definitely one for the ASA unless they really are going to halve the remainder of my bill, which I doubt completely !!
