My iphone 6s has started to overheat and become red hot in the top corner by the lense as soon as the phone is in use.

It allows 1 call or social media browse then says it needs to cool down.

I have deleted recently loaded Zoom app, nothing else new on it at all.

This is not great as the phone is my lifeline as a front line keyworker in health & social care, it is critical I have communication with the central office.

your help is urgently needed.

Many thanks

Apple may be able to help @HG70 https://support.apple.com/en-gb

Although as my son had a similar problem with his iPhone 6, he had to change it for another one.

Edited to correct title!

@HG70

Fairly common problem on the 6s.

It is a battery fault and will only get worse, eventually the battery will expand and force the case apart.

Apple were replacing faulty batteries at one point but not sure if this offer has now finished or not.

I'd suggest you seek out a replacement phone as contact is critical to you.

Just had another thought, does it overheat if you turn off wifi?

In the meantime connect to itunes and do a reset to the last backup. That will help but it does sound like a battery problem

You could try a soft reset first by holding the power button and home button down together until the Apple logo appears then release the buttons. The phone will reboot and you won't lose anything on there.
