I have received a call asking if I would like to be registered for a 5G boosted O2 sim. Is this a scam or a real thing?

@Mm21m Never heard of that one before. General rule is never respond to any cold call, no matter who they say they are, or what they're offering. Never give out personal information or respond to texts.

You can block the number that called you, or any number you think may be suspicious.

@Mm21m

If you happen to have an old SIM, the safest option would be to visit an O2 retail store with photographic identification and a SIM-swap can be done whilst you wait :-

Store locator | O2 UK | Find Your Nearest O2 Store

https://stores.o2.co.uk/

I did an in-store SIM-swap a couple of months ago and everything went surprisingly smoothly !

I think the general consensus here is scam.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
