Best option is to get the replacement, sell it straight away, then pay off the contract so you are free to join a network of your choosing.

Generally, yes. But it's just weird that every phone is failing in the same way for one customer?
I'm not aware of it being a common fault at all.......

Does seem odd. Just a long shot but could they be sending the customer back the same phone but claiming it's another replacement
