There have been partial answers to the question of turning on voice over LTE and/or 4G calling. The suggestion is to turn it on via the My O2 app... except there is no option shown there.
Obviously, I could call O2 and ask, but asking here first seems sensible as it may help others.
I am using an iPhone SE (2020) and am on pay monthly, SIM only.
FWIW, I was with Three previously and it “just worked” by turning on the feature under “settings” on my phone, not so with O2.

Firstly it does need to be enabled by O2 on your account.

When it has, you turn it on in your MyO2 and then in your phone settings.

Phone will need a reboot to show the settings once it's all activated.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Log on to the website and see if you can activate it via My o2 and it would be under the 4G and Wifi Calling menu.

If it doesn't allow you to, then come back here and we can try and get one of the Guru's to help you slight_smile
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

Just been on “chat” with O2 and it should be enabled within 24 hours.
It’s a long winded process to have to waste the time of a support worker at O2, when it could be easily set by default. We are in the 21st century!
Thanks for the replies.

It always used to be on by default.

Absolutely no idea why they changed that but it's only been a recent change and just adds to the drain on calls to customer service.

I totally agree with your comment 'it's ridiculous it has to be enabled by O2'. A complete and utter waste of time.

If a device has Wifi calling capacity, you should be able to do it yourself via My O2, instead of faffing about contacting CS (who are virtually non existent during this current pandemic)
