I just upgraded my plan since I can now get more for the same cost. I've been sent a new SIM which I assume is for a 4G phone. I haven't yet got a new phone, just my Nexus 4. Will the new SIM work in this phone or should I just continue with my existing SIM until I actually get a 4G phone? Cheers, Paul.

yes a 4g sim will work in your 3g phone.

Take a look on your current sim card.

If it says 4g on it and is the correct size that will fit in your new to arrive phone your good to go.

If not then when the new phone arrives use this form to move your tariff and number over to the new sim.

All network modes are backwards compatible so in the same way that a 3G sim will work in an old 2G phone a 4G sim will work in a 3G phone etc.... Anyway, 5G is just around the corner and we'll all need new sims again wink

The sim sent to you wont be activated and your number and tariff will not be on it until you perform the swapmysim via the link i added.

However dont do that unless your future phone takes another sized sim card.

Just keep using your original sim as its a 4g one for now.

You've misunderstood. My current SIM is not 4G, the new one they sent is. I'll be after a Nexus 5 which as far as I'm aware also takes a micro SIM. I'll give it a go in a bit and see what happens slight_smile And thanks for the link!

Ah right Ok.

Lol.

According to the specs yes the 5 takes a micro-sim.

Take into account it can take up to 24 hours to fully settle after the swap but is typically faster.

Keep turning the phone off and on throughout this period to help the connection.
