As title suggests I have taken an upgrade from 4G Iphone XS Max to 5G Iphone 12 Max Pro.

I am currently getting no signal with the 5G sim, but getting signal when I put the 4G sim into the Iphone 12. Is this simply due to the lack of 5G coverage in Northen Ireland? (OR) Should I be getting 4G signal from the new sim when 5G can't be found.

Have I missed any steps in the process of getting this new phone setup?

Many thanks,

CF

@CFran

To use the new 5g sim you need to do a sim swap.

Start the process from your old sim Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update

But unless you have 5g in your area you can just use your old 4g sim in the new phone.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
